When it comes to Twilight’s soundtrack, you may credit legendary music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas, who has also curated the music for TV shows The OC, Roswell, Chuck, Mad Men and Without a Trace. Patsavas is also on board to supervise the sound for New Moon. Now the gossip…
The new director, Chris Weitz, has been sending out signals that he may be open to a more experimental soundtrack than his predecessor. That could mean songs that sparkle even more than the movie’s vampires when they get caught in the sun.
“I think that might be the way it’s going,” says Marisa Baldi, West Coast partner for Zync, a music brokerage that funneled two songs onto the Twilight soundtrack. “I get the vibe that the guy is a little more into being surprised…everything is really open, and he wants to hear a lot of cool music.”"
Lucy Hale Auditioned For New Moon Movie
“TWIST just got off the phone with Privileged star Lucy Hale (and David’s Henrie’s GF!). Only TWIST got the scoop straight from Lucy about her auditioning for New Moon.
“Well, I did read [for the role of Jane]. We had some talks about it. But I think they just offered it to Dakota Fanning, the role I was interested in. Which is great – I’m a huge fan of her! So, I think she’ll probably take that. And I mean, as of right now, I’m not sure if it’s going to work out. But I’m definitely still going to see it!”"

Second Casting Call For New Moon Movie?
“Posted on the jobs section of Vancouver’s Craigslist site is an advert titled “Open call for major motion picture” which goes on to describe an open casting call that sounds suspiciously like it might be for New Moon…
The advert reveals that casting agency Aikins/ Cossey is “conducting a three city search” looking for “young first nations/aboriginal actors and actresses between the ages of 15 and 25.” Roles up for grabs could include speaking parts and no previous experience is required. Interested? Hot-foot it to Second Avenue Studios, 225 West End Avenue, Vancouver from 9am to 12pm on Sunday 8th February. Upon arriving, you’ll be given script material and asked to return later for the audition.
The ad cryptically refuses to mention the buzz words Twilight or New Moon, mysteriously alluding to “a major motion picture” that “will shoot in Vancouver starting mid March to the end of May”.”

The Daily Beast has named Cam Gigandet and Taylor Lautner the breakout stars of 2009!

After originating the role of Jacob Black in the original crazy successful teen-vampires-stare-and-brood Twilight, there was talk Taylor Lautner wouldn’t be cast in the sequel. Fortunately, the director was convinced and Lautner is bulking up to play the older role in the follow-up New Moon, which will be rushed into theaters this November. Some teen-TV fans may remember Cam as the guest character on The O.C. responsible for killing off Mischa Barton, but he’s going to be known for much more than Marissa-cide after this year.
