New Moon Footage at Movie-Con II

Posted on 12th August 2009 in Events, Movie

According to EmpireOnline, New Moon footage will be premiering at Movie-Con II: two never before seen clips!

Aaaaiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeee! Yes, insert your earplugs now, because this year’s Empire and BFI Movie-Con II is going to include not one, but two new scenes from The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which we know may cause some of you to faint with sheer excitement.

The film’s not due out until November 20, but you’ll be getting a sneak peek at two key scenes at this weekend’s event. While we can’t tell you which ones just yet, we can guarantee a)brooding and b) pining for an absent true love.

Watch out for more announcements as we get them, and please note that we’re serious about those earplugs. If you’re planning to scream, on the other hand, might want to bring lots of water for that scratchy throat, eh?

Peter Facinelli “Wants Your Blood!”

Posted on 11th August 2009 in Actors, Events

Peter Facinelli posted to his twitter:

I WANT YOUR BLOOD. This Sat. Noon. I am holding an autograph signing/blood drive at the Pembroke Mall in Virginia Beach, Virginia to help benefit the Red Cross. It is not mandatory to give blood but I would love it if you did. Autographs and merchandising will be sold and portions of the proceeds will go to the Red Cross. :)
Here’s the details… See you there:)

Saturday August 15th
Noon.
Pembroke Mall
4554 Virginia Beach Blvd,, VA

Rg. Blood Drive- About a month ago I received a tweet from someone, asking if anyone knew someone with O positive blood for a boy that needed it. I RT’d it to my followers. It opened my eyes to this cause, so thank you to the person who tweeted me, and I hope the boy is ok. I am taking this weekend to fly across the country to donate my time, and yes, my blood, for this cause. If you are in the area I do hope that you get a chance to come see me, and support such a worthy cause. Donate Blood, Help Save Lives, (and maybe feed a vampire or two…heehee)

Go for a ride in the “Twilight” Truck

Posted on 8th August 2009 in Events

Want to rent out Bella’s truck for a good cause? Well now you can!

From DoSomething.org:

You may think you’re a “Twilight” fan, but believe us you’re not as big a fan as Sterling Biegert. The 17 year old Texan owns more memorabilia than she can count, including Robert Pattinson’s Ray Bans. Jealous? Yea so are we. This girl has inherited another, bigger, piece of “Twilight” history: Bella’s red Chevy pickup truck!

Not bad for a first car eh? Only Sterling wants to share the joy with others so she is putting the “Chevy to the levy” for charity! She’s always wanted to raise money for charity and now she has the perfect incentive—renting out the car Kristen Stewart drives in the “Twilight” movie. All of the proceeds from renting out the car will go to her favorite charities.

Hosting an event any time soon? We suggest you contact Sterling and rent out the Twilight mobile. Check out Sterling’s story below! And tell us what you think Sterling should give the money to. Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson don’t have a cause yet—what cause should they rock? Tell us what you think—comment below!

THERE IS AN EVENT TONIGHT WHERE FANS CAN VIEW THE TRUCK FOR THE POWER OF YOUTH EVENT. IT IS AT 8 PM AT MADAME TUSSAUDS ON HOLLYWOOD BLVD.

Arizona hotel wants you to see…your favorite Twilight cast member?

Posted on 6th August 2009 in Events

What an unusual offer…but this Arizona hotel says that you can see your favorite Twilight cast member.

The Phoenix Times reports, “A press release from Wigwam claims that guests will be in ‘prime position for the chance at seeing their favorite Twilight cast member.’ Who wouldn’t want a shot of Ashley Greene or Billy Burke enjoying dinner at Red’s Steakhouse, rejuvinating at the Red Door Spa or beating away Hot Topic shoppers while insisting that they’re not really vampires?”

Will fans pay $105 to see the cast members? The Examiner states, “That said, if accurate, this press release subjugates the importance of the security and privacy of the actors to the chance at making a quick $105 a head.”

Twilight/HP Fandom Discussion Panel August 1 in NYC

Posted on 29th July 2009 in Books, Events

The Children’s Literary Café at the new Children’s Center at 42 nd Street is pleased to announce our event on Saturday, August 1st at 2:00 p.m.:

The fan phenomenon. It’s about bringing your love of literature out into the open where you can celebrate it with a community of like-minded people. Since the advent of the internet, fans have never been able to meet and gather with more ease. On this panel, Melissa Anelli of The Leaky Cauldron (the most all-encompassing Harry Potter fan site) and Laura Byrne-Cristiano of the Twilight Lexicon will be present to discuss online communities and what it means to take fandom to another level.

Webmistress Melissa Anelli is a freelance writer living in New York City who is smitten by all things Harry Potter. These days Melissa spends even more of her free time writing a book chronicling the Harry Potter fan phenomeon. She is the author of the New York Times Bestseller Harry, a History: The True Story of a Boy Wizard, His Fans, and Life Inside the Harry Potter Phenomenon.

Laura Byrne-Cristiano is one of the co-owners of the Twilight Lexicon. Aside from running what is arguably the longest continually operating Twilight website on the Internet, Ms. Byrne-Cristiano used to be one of the moderators of the Werewolf Registry.

The Children’s Literary Café is a monthly gathering of adults who are fans of children’s literature. Professionals, librarians, authors, illustrators, publishers, booksellers, teachers, and anyone else interested in the field are welcome to attend our meetings. The Literary Café provides free Advanced Readers galleys, a rotating series of talks with professionals in the field, and great conversation. This program is for adults only.

Tickets for Twilight showing after Comic-Con

Posted on 16th July 2009 in Events

TwilightLexicon reports, “There was some confusion today when apparently Fandango started selling tickets for the Twilight Showing happening at the Gaslamp in San Diego and they just as suddenly stopped selling the tickets and folks got a sold out message.  It was all the more baffling because the tickets weren’t even supposed to be on sale yet. Not to worry, our friends over at Twilighters Anonymous got to the bottom of it.”

Quoted from Twilighters Anonymous,

Good news, Twilighters. If you haven’t gotten your tickets for the special Twilight screening after Comic Con, no worries, there are still some available. There was some confusion earlier surrounding ticket sales, but we’ve got all the details and are hoping to clear up any remaining questions. Earlier today, a slight glitch in the system allowed Fandango to make the Twilight screening tickets available for sale, but the option was removed shortly thereafter and now reads that the tickets are sold out.

In short: the ticket purchase option was removed for the time being but will be available again starting Monday. If you are in the San Diego area and would like to purchase hard copy tickets for the event, you may do so starting Monday. If you aren’t in the area or would just like to purchase online, you can also do that starting Monday on Fandango’s website.

An important note, however: if you’ve purchased your tickets on Fandango, you will have until Thursday at 1pm to pick them up in person. After 1pm, the box office at the theater will close down and you will be unable to retrieve your hard copy ticket. If you neglect to pick up your hard copy tickets – even if you present your printed confirmation page at the event – you will be denied admission.

You can purchase your tickets (starting Monday) here on Fandango’s website.

You can view the entire post from Twilighters Anonymous here.
