Kristen Stewart’s Deleted Scenes from Eclipse

Posted on 4th July 2010 in Merchandise, Movie

MTV reports:

['Eclipse' Director David Slade] has promised MTV News that the ['Eclipse'] DVD will definitely contain deleted scenes — and at least two will feature Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan.

“There’s a lovely scene between Angela and Bella where they’re just two girls getting along and they’re just talking about girl stuff, about jealousy,” said Slade of the two high school friends. “Bella’s so completely and utterly wrapped up in all of this stuff — that Angela has no idea about — [and Bella] is blind to the basic human stuff in front of her. It’s a lovely scene, and I’m sure it will be on the DVD. It just stopped the film dead. The film had a pace and it just stopped dead.”

Indeed, there is very little in “Eclipse” of Bella in her high school setting: one or two scenes in the cafeteria, a brief graduation scene, and not much else. Rather, the movie focuses on the Bella-Edward-Jacob love triangle and the growing threat Victoria and her army of newborn vampires pose to the community. With a film that runs just over two hours, a director is simply forced to make tough choices.

“It was one of those things we ended up reluctantly removing, but it will be there for later, for posterity,” Slade said of the scene. Aside from Bella and Angela’s conversation, Slade admitted that not much was left on the cutting-room floor. “There’s not much fat,” he said.

But there is a touching scene between Bella and her father that fans canget excited to see. “We did this one scene of Charlie just telling Bella how proud he is of her, which was wonderful and really touching,” Slade said. “But again, it just kind of stopped you.”

Breaking Dawn Movie Release Date Set

Posted on 8th May 2010 in Movie

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is officially set to be released on November 18th, 2011!

Also, the director has been announced as Oscar-winner Bill Condon. “As the writer and director of Dreamgirls and Gods and Monsters, Condon has experience bringing theatrics to the screen as well as a touch of the supernatural. The other directors that were being bandied about for the film include Sofia Coppola, Gus van Sant and The Reader’s Stephen Daldry.

It seems film studio Summit Entertainment is aiming a bit higher in adapting Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn for the screen and hopefully it signals more financial investment in the series. There is talk of it being shot in 3D, which will be a first for the Twilight saga, and neither Condon nor Summit will confirm whether the last book will be split into two movies.”

New Moon DVD Comes Out March 20th!

Posted on 15th January 2010 in Movie, Music

Fandango reports:

Before we begin, you’re gonna need to get out a calendar and the biggest red marker you can find. Go…I’ll wait here.

Waiting…

Okay, got it? Good. Now turn to the month of March and draw a big fat circle around March 20th because that’s the day The Twilight Saga: New Moon will hit DVD and Blu-ray. But Erik, you say – isn’t March 20th a Saturday? And don’t DVDs usually get released on a Tuesday? Yes, they usually do – but with a DVD this big, retailers want to host some snazzy midnight release parties, which means they need a time when the kids won’t have to get up for school the next day.

So there it is – March 20th. I imagine you want to know what your purchasing options are, right? Well, they haven’t released all the details yet, but here’s what we do know: you’ll be able to pick up either a Two-Disc Special Edition DVD or a Special Edition Blu-ray – both of which will include the following:

Audio Commentary by director Chris Weitz and editor Peter Lambert

Six-Part Documentary takes you behind the scenes of the film

Rehearsal Footage with Muse, who is featured on the hit soundtrack

Three Music Videos from Death Cab for Cutie, Anya Marina and Mute Math

The press release does promise more, so there’s still a chance for some tasty deleted scenes, though chances are they’re saving those for another edition. The pre-sale begins on January 26th, just so you early birds are aware.
