Robert Pattinson for an Oscar? MTV’s money is on Anna Kendrick!

Posted on 10th November 2009 in Actors

MTV’s Hollywood Crush has this to say about Anna Kendrick:

After all, the actress is becoming something of a sensation. As the second youngest person to ever be nominated for a Tony award, it shouldn’t be a surprise that she is gaining critical praise for her film roles after only being in the business for six years. Her role as Natalie in Jason Reitman’s upcoming dramedy “Up In The Air” is a standout in a film where everyone (George Clooney included!) delivered their best performances.

Although the Oscar for Anna would not be for Twilight, do you agree with the fact she might be the cast member to earn an Oscar first? Check out the full article here!

Examiner Interview With Daniel Cudmore aka Felix

Posted on 28th October 2009 in Actors

In New Moon, the stunts on the screen are all Daniel, and mostly Robert, for that matter. Anxious to perform his own stunts, Daniel found out quickly that the stunt coordinator for New Moon was the same one he’d worked with in AVPR. “I hadn’t gotten the script yet, so I called him up. He was familiar with my abilities and said for sure I could do the fight scene.”

The burning question posed by fans who adore both Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen: Which did you enjoy more- throwing around Wolverine or Edward Cullen? No question about that one. “I definitely enjoyed throwing around Edward,” Daniel booms. “Wolverine was one toss.”

Daniel went on about working with Robert in the fight scene, and is proud of the fact that Robert took on a lot of the work himself. “Robert and I worked together on a lot of it. He was a little apprehensive at first, but he enjoyed himself. Robert did one of the main sections of the fight.” Fortunately, Daniel and stunt man Simon had worked together on AVPR previously, so their rapport was intact. “Simon took some pretty hard hits on the ground, especially the ones where I’m throwing him on the floor from six feet above.”

When I asked if he created the illusion of slamming him from six feet above, making for a softer blow, Daniel simply chortled in response. “No, he took some really hard hits,” he said. “He was a good sport.”

Purist Twilight Saga fans can relax. Daniel worked hard to find the proper inspiration behind the rage in Felix, considering that the books provide little reference. Having Stephenie Meyer nearby to bounce ideas off of made for the perfect scenario. “I read as much as I could to try and build the back-story, but it was great having her on set. I asked Stephenie as much as I could, and it all worked its way out. It made me much more confident.”

Robert Pattinson ‘Interview with a Vampire’

Posted on 11th October 2009 in Actors

“To be honest, I still don’t really understand what’s going on,” he says. “Like yesterday, I was having lunch down the road. We were in this place for a couple of hours and suddenly there was like 400 people outside on the street. It was just so nuts and it’s like that all the time now.”

If Pattinson hasn’t come to grips with the global hysteria by now, how will he cope when New Moon is released next month?

“When the second one comes out, then I’ll see how I am. Mostly I can ignore things to quite a big extent and kind of pretend they’re not really happening,” he says, sounding eerily calm.

“I just don’t take any of it seriously. It’s just a job and while it’s a job I love, girls scream out for Edward, not Robert. I still can’t get a date.”

Pattinson has been peddling this line for months. He won’t fess up to dating Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella. Perhaps he’s under studio instructions to appear single? It probably boosts ticket sales.

The real reason Pattinson is so calm is simple: “I’m not the lead in the second film. Taylor [Lautner] is.” He grins idiotically. “I appear in Bella’s dreams. So I’m in it but the focus is not on me. I just have significant moments at the beginning … and the end. So I’m more of a supporting role in this one, which is why I felt so free. I didn’t have to deal with any of the bullshit of the first one. I don’t have to hold the movie or worry about the fans. I think I did it better without all those pressures.”

[The article also notes:] Pattinson chain-smokes during the interview. About halfway through, he runs out of cigarettes. He decides to pop out into the hallway to see whether he can “bum” one from a passing hotel guest. When the French hotel staff, who are normally cool, calm and collected, lay eyes on him, they turn into an adoring mass of autograph-seeking fans. Pattinson has to make a quick dash back to the safety of the room. He’s clearly unnerved by the run-in.

MTV: Selena Joins Team Jacob

Posted on 11th October 2009 in Actors

While Selena Gomez never admitted to dating “Twilight” star Taylor Lautner, the two definitely don’t seem to be together any longer. But just because the heartthrob is out of her life, that doesn’t mean he’s out of her heart. When MTV News posed the classic Twilighter conundrum — Team Edward or Team Jacob? — to Gomez, she went with her pal.

“This question is so hard. I don’t know, I like them both,” she told MTV News. “I have to chose one of them? I don’t know, I guess Team Jacob, ’cause I want to be a good friend.”

She admitted that she came to the saga a little late. It wasn’t until she started hanging out with Lautner that she watched the flick to see what all the fuss was about. And now, she can’t get enough of it and can’t wait for “New Moon” to hit theaters in November.

“To be honest, I really wasn’t [into the 'Twilight' franchise],” she told MTV News. “I never read the books, I never saw the movie. And then, I got the wonderful opportunity of meeting Taylor, and we became friends, and I watched it ’cause I love to support my friends, and I ended up loving it.”

Selena isn’t the only member of her family who’s hooked on the series. “Me and my mom were like, ‘OK, this movie is pretty awesome,’ ” she said. “We’re going to the ['New Moon'] premiere.” (via MTV)

USA Today Michael Sheen Interview

Posted on 11th October 2009 in Actors, Movie

Why join the bloodsuckers? “I wanted to see how the other half lived,” Sheen explains with a grin. “Or unlived.”

Actually, Lily, his 10-year-old daughter with Underworld actress Kate Beckinsale, had something to do with his decision. “She is very, very into the books. I know how obsessive she was about them, so I was already predisposed wanting to be in it.”

After he read the first two books himself, Sheen realized why the literary phenom causes teen girls to swoon. “What it has tapped into, at least in the first book, is how it feels to fall in love for the first time. I don’t think you have to be a girl to relate to that.

“The second book captures the utter desolation of losing that first love. I went through that myself, and Stephenie Meyer invokes that brilliantly.”

So what kind of vamp is Aro? “I suppose the Volturi are like the royal family of vampires, and while he is more their spokesperson in the books, he is their leader in the film. He’s got a sort of regality about him.

“I like the way director Chris Weitz describes him. On the surface, he is very charming and very warm, sort of likable and soft. But underneath, you get the sense he is a psychopathic killer. I love playing with that idea.” (via USA Today)
