Ashley Greene pitches on Alexa Chung

Posted on 17th July 2009 in Actors, Other

The TwilightLexicon reports, “It seems like at every fan convention someone asks Ashley Greene if she can demonstrate the Twilight movie pitch. In the past Ashley has turned down the request because she’s either been in a dress or really tight pants that she was afraid of splitting. Well, finally on Alexa Chung, Ashley was in a pair of shorts, and she demonstrated using what we think are Nerf balls. She wasn’t bad considering the shorts were leather and she was wearing at least three-inch heels.”

Meese Meets Stephenie Meyer!

Posted on 16th July 2009 in Other

The band Meese met Stephenie backstage at one of their concerts with The Fray and Jack’s Mannequin. They posted on their official blog about it:

“Hi guys, Nathan here. Now for something that you probably didn’t know about Ben and me. We’re into Twilight. Like IN TO it. It started when we were visiting our record label almost a year ago and they had a bunch of copies of the book laying around and I needed something to read on the airplane on the way back to Denver.

Stephenie was AWESOME. We got to hang out and chatted for a while! If it wasn’t for the fact that we had to go on stage to play, I probably would’ve tried to talk to her all night.”

La Push: Turning into a tourist destination

Posted on 9th July 2009 in Other

As we all know, many Twilight fans visit Forks to view Bella’s house, or Carlisle’s parking spot at the hospital. But with the release of New Moon, many fans are heading 7 miles west to visit La Push, and the Quileute tribe does not know how to react.

The NY Post reports, “Locals marvel at how much she [Stephenie Meyer] got right, but the economically depressed reservation is ambivalent about ‘Twilight’ and how its 350 residents should capitalize on it. Compared to Forks, where visitors can pose with Bella’s truck and participate in a ‘Twilight’ look-alike contest, the reservation is cloaked in centuries-old anonymity. ‘There are mixed feelings,’ says tribal council member Anna Rose Counsell. Over the last three months, the tribe has struggled over what to do. ‘This is a phenomenon that is happening whether we like it or not.’”

The Tribal publicist states, “‘The Quileute have traced their ancestry to the Ice Age,’ she says. ‘One day, ‘Twilight’ will go away and they will continue being the hospitable, welcoming people they’ve always been, practicing the culture they have been practicing for tens of thousands of years.’”

Interview With The Designers of The Twilight Board Game

Posted on 5th July 2009 in Other

Peace. Love. Twilight! snagged an interview with the designers of the Twilight board game. Check out the excerpt below as well as the entire interview here.

Is this game something anyone can play, or do you need to be a fan of the series to play?
It definitely helps to be a fan of the series especially with the trivia challenges, but we intentionally designed the game in such a way that you don’t need to know everything about Twilight to enjoy the board game. Although we didn’t include a house rules section in the rulebook, players are encouraged to play the game in the way that they want to play it. For example, if you are playing with a bunch of friends who don’t know anything about Twilight, feel free to use only the non-trivia halves of the cards.

How did you come up with the questions?
We based the trivia questions on the movie. We wanted this to be the kind of game that you would want to play with your friends, so we brought in social and party elements. We also wanted you to have things to do even when it wasn’t your turn, which was the inspiration for some of the more social questions.

The Bikini Dance

Posted on 5th July 2009 in Other

As you all have been previously told, Peter Facinelli made a bet with Rob DeFranco that Peter couldn’t get 500,000 followers on Twitter by Friday, June 19th. Too bad for Rob, us Twilight fans are very determined people.

Peter won the bet and in return Rob DeFranco has to walk down Hollywood Boulevard while wearing only a bikini and dancing to Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies.”

And folks, that day has come.

WARNING: Don’t watch if you don’t want to laugh. Hilarity will ensue. ;D
