First Fan of the Month Contest Winner
The winner of our Roswell contest and our very first fan of the month is… Ruth! Here’s her description of three things that makes Roswell similar to Twilight:
1. The Supernatural – The three aliens on Roswell: Max, Isabel and Michael, are a lot like the Cullens. Not only are they ‘more than human’, with special powers and mysterious origins, they too are trying to fit in with the human world but not really succeeding.
2. The Forbidden Love – The central couple, Max and Liz, are quite similar to Edward and Bella. They are a human and a non-human who fall in love even though, because they’re “different”, it’s forbidden.
3. The Heroine – Like Twilight, at the centre of it all is a normal teenage girl, who doesn’t find her place in the world until she meets the people who are not of it. Like Bella, Liz is intelligent, strong (on the inside lol), determined and beautiful without realizing it.
We’d like to thank everybody who participated in the contest; you guys did a really great job! Site Update
We just wanted to remind everyone to enter the contest for a chance to become our site’s very first fan of the month! More info on that here. (P.S. our Roswell fan website will be up really soon ;D)
Also, we added another design to our new Cafe Press store, submitted by Kelsey, and we love it! Check out the store here.
Oh, and we’re going to be creating a page for Affiliates soon, because our side bar is getting pretty crowded with buttons, lol. As we do this, we’ll decide which sites we wish to keep as top affiliates, and those sites’ buttons will remain on the side bar which is displayed on every page of our site. The others will all have their buttons places on the new/upcoming Affiliates page.
Fan Of The Month Roswell Contest
So here’s the deal: we’re hosting a contest to find our first DazzledByEdward.com fan of the month of 2009, which happens to be our first fan of the month ever! To become our very first fan of the month, here’s what you have to do:
1. Watch the first episode of Roswell here. (If you live outside of the US, you may not be able to watch it through the Hulu player on our site. We apologize, but that’s the only legal way to watch the episode for free online that we know of.)
2. Add our Roswell Fan MySpace profile here.
3. Leave a comment on the above-mentioned Roswell Fan profile describing 3 things that make Roswell similar to Twilight. Be sure to explain the points that you make. (Please include your first name at the end of your comment if it is not clearly in your display name.)
The user who makes the best points and shows the best understanding of both Roswell and Twilight will be proclaimed the winner. (Although watching just the first episode of Roswell is required for this contest, watching a few more episodes may prove to be helpful to thoroughly understanding the connections between the two.
